  3. Integrated padded seat with backrest - take a rest whenever needed with generous 44cm wide seat at 53cm height, plus supportive backrest for added comfort.
  4. Twin pannier bags - practical storage on both sides keeps belongings accessible without removing bags when folding for transport or storage.

Description

The Drive DeVilbiss Tri-Walker is a practical three-wheeled mobility aid designed for both everyday indoor and outdoor use. The innovative three-wheel design provides exceptional manoeuvrability in confined spaces whilst maintaining the stability and security you need for confident walking.

Superior Three-Wheel Manoeuvrability

The defining feature of the Tri-Walker is its three-wheel configuration, with two larger rear wheels and a single front castor. This triangular design provides several important advantages over four-wheeled rollators:

Exceptional turning ability: The single front castor wheel swivels freely through 360 degrees, allowing you to turn in remarkably tight spaces. Navigating around furniture at home, manoeuvring through narrow supermarket aisles, or turning in small bathrooms becomes genuinely straightforward.

Smaller turning circle: The three-wheel design requires less space to turn compared to four-wheeled rollators, making the Tri-Walker particularly well-suited for use in smaller homes, flats, or anywhere space is at a premium.

Easy indoor navigation: The compact footprint and responsive steering make the Tri-Walker excellent for indoor use, whilst the 19cm (7.5") diameter wheels still provide stable support on outdoor pavements.

Lightweight Yet Robust Construction

The Tri-Walker features a lightweight steel frame that weighs just 7kg (15 lbs) including the pannier bags. This remarkably light weight makes the tri-walker genuinely easy to manoeuvre, lift into car boots, and take it on and off of the bus.

Despite its lightweight construction, the steel frame is robust and supportive, tested to safely support users up to 115kg (18 stone).

Integrated Seat with Supportive Backrest

It features a generously proportioned, comfortable padded fabric seat (44cm wide, 53cm high, 28cm deep) that provides a welcome resting place whenever you need to take the weight off your feet.

The included supportive backrest is integrated into the design, providing reassuring comfort and support when you're seated. The backrest helps you maintain good posture whilst resting and provides something to lean against, making seated breaks genuinely relaxing rather than perching uncomfortably.

The seat height of 53cm (21") makes sitting down and standing up straightforward, even if you have reduced mobility or joint stiffness.

Twin Pannier Bags for Practical Storage

The three wheel rollator comes equipped with twin pannier bags positioned on either side of the frame, just beneath the seat. They provide generous storage capacity for shopping, personal belongings, and essentials you want to keep with you during outings.

The bags fold together with the tri-walker, meaning you don't need to remove them before folding for transport or storage. This saves time and effort.

When loading the bags, distribute weight evenly between both sides to maintain the rollator's balance and stability.

Arthritic-Friendly Brakes

The Tri-Walker is equipped with arthritic-friendly loop-lock cable brakes specifically designed for users with reduced hand strength or dexterity. The ergonomic loop handles are easier to grip and operate than traditional brake levers, requiring less force to engage.

The brake system offers two modes of operation:

Progressive braking whilst walking: Like a bike, squeeze both brake levers upward to engage the brakes and slow your movement when navigating slopes or busy areas. The smooth, controlled braking provides precise speed control. Release the levers to release the brakes.

Parking brake for stationary security: Push both brake levers downward until they lock in position. This secures the rear wheels completely, preventing any movement when you're seated or stationary. To release the parking brake, simply pull the levers upward to disengage.

The brakes are factory-set and should not require adjustment during normal use.

Height-Adjustable Handles for Comfortable Posture

The handles adjust in height from 82-99cm, accommodating users of different statures and ensuring you can achieve the optimal handle position for comfortable, upright walking posture. Properly adjusted handles encourage you to stand tall rather than hunching forward, significantly reducing strain on your back, shoulders, and arms.

The height adjustment mechanism uses simple tightening knobs - raise or lower the handles to your preferred height, then secure them in position by turning the knobs clockwise. The handles can also be angled to face downward for optimal ergonomic positioning.

Simple Folding for Transport and Storage

The Tri-Walker folds quickly and easily for transport or storage. Simply pull the strap located in the centre of the seat to release the locking mechanism, then push the handlebars together. The tri-walker folds to a compact size that fits easily in car boots or stands discreetly in hallways and cupboards.

To unfold, push the handlebars apart until you hear an audible, reassuring click, confirming the folding mechanism has locked securely in position.

Solid Grey Tyres for Low Maintenance

The Tri-Walker is equipped with solid tyres on 19cm (7.5") diameter wheels. The tyres are completely puncture-proof and require no maintenance - you'll never need to worry about checking air pressure, inflating tyres, or dealing with flats.

The solid tyres provide smooth, reliable performance on indoor floors and outdoor pavements, offering good grip and stability on level surfaces.

Who is the Tri-Walker Suitable For?

The Drive DeVilbiss Tri-Walker is ideal for people who:

  • Need exceptional manoeuvrability in tight spaces, narrow hallways, or small rooms
  • Live in smaller homes or flats where space is at a premium
  • Want a lightweight mobility aid that's easy to lift and transport
  • Have arthritis or reduced hand strength and need easy-to-operate brakes
  • Need practical storage for shopping or personal belongings
  • Want a compact folding design for car transport or home storage
  • Prefer the manoeuvrability of three wheels over four-wheeled rollators
  • Need frequent seated rests with comfortable backrest support

Important Considerations

The Tri-Walker may not be suitable for people who:

  • Weigh more than 115kg (18 stone)
  • Cannot adequately manoeuvre the tri-walker or operate the brakes
  • Need to use the rollatornon uneven outdoor terrain or slopes
  • Require a mobility aid that can also function as a transport device

The Tri-Walker is designed for occasional and frequent use on level surfaces, both indoors and outdoors. It should only be used as a walking aid and must not be used as a wheelchair.

Simple Assembly

The Tri-Walker arrives requiring straightforward assembly of the handlebars:

  1. Unfold the tri-walker frame by pulling the handlebars apart until you hear a click
  2. Insert both handlebars into the frame and secure with the provided bolts and tightening handles
  3. Adjust handle height to suit your stature and secure in position
  4. Ensure both handles are at equal height and angled correctly

The entire assembly process takes just a few minutes and requires no special tools - everything needed is included.

Care and Maintenance

The Tri-Walker requires minimal maintenance to ensure continued safe operation:

  • Keep the tri-walker clean by wiping down with a damp cloth and drying thoroughly
  • Avoid abrasive detergents or solvents which can damage plastic parts
  • Store in a dry place when not in use
  • Regularly check moving parts (wheels, castor) for smooth operation
  • Ensure tightening handles and all fasteners remain securely tightened
  • Verify both cable brakes are operating correctly before each use
  • Inspect the central locking mechanism regularly

If maintained correctly, the Tri-Walker has an expected service life of 5 years.

Warranty and Support

The Drive DeVilbiss Tri-Walker comes with a 1-year manufacturer's warranty from the date of purchase, covering defects in manufacturing, design, or materials. We will supply replacement parts for any components that fail due to manufacturing defects.

Safety Warnings

Important: Always ensure the parking brakes are locked before sitting on the seat. The tri-walker must be fully unfolded with the locking mechanism engaged before use. Do not overload the pannier bags and distribute weight evenly between both sides. Avoid travelling across slopes as there is a risk the tri-walker may tip sideways.

The Tri-Walker is designed for use on level surfaces only and should not be used on steep gradients or extremely uneven terrain.
