Description

The Drive DeVilbiss Torro Outdoor Adventurer is specifically designed for people who love the outdoors and refuse to let mobility challenges limit their adventures. Whether you're walking through parks, navigating cobbled streets, or simply want the freedom to venture beyond smooth pavements, the Torro provides the rugged capability and reliable support you need.

Unlike conventional rollators designed primarily for indoor use and smooth surfaces, the Torro Outdoor Adventurer features extra-large pneumatic (air-filled) tyres that transform how confidently you can explore uneven terrain.

This is a rollator built for adventure, not just getting around the house.

Extra-Large Pneumatic Tyres for All-Terrain Confidence

The defining feature of the Torro Outdoor Adventurer is its extra-large pneumatic tyres. These air-filled tyres are fundamentally different from the solid wheels found on standard rollators, providing several crucial advantages when walking on challenging surfaces.

Superior shock absorption: The tyres cushion the impact when rolling over stones, roots, cracks, and uneven ground. Rather than jarring vibrations travelling through the frame to your hands and arms, the pneumatic tyres absorb these shocks, providing a remarkably smooth and comfortable ride even on rough terrain.

Excellent traction: The larger contact patch and flexible tyre surface provide superior grip on loose surfaces like gravel, grass, and dirt paths. Where smaller, solid wheels might slip or struggle, the Torro's pneumatic tyres maintain confident traction.

Effortless rolling: The larger diameter means the tyres roll over obstacles more easily. Small stones, tree roots, cracks in paths, and uneven ground that would catch or stop smaller wheels barely slow the Torro down.

Whether you're navigating cobblestones in York, walking gravel paths in Leeds Castle, or tackling bumpy pavements in London, the Torro handles terrain that would be uncomfortable or impossible with a conventional rollator.

Built for Active Outdoor Lifestyles

The Torro Outdoor Adventurer is designed for people who maintain active lifestyles and want to continue enjoying outdoor activities. The robust construction supports users up to 150kg whilst the all-terrain capability opens up walking routes and environments that aren't accessible with standard rollators.

Comfortable Seating for Outdoor Rests

The Torro features a generously proportioned seat (43cm wide, 60.5cm high, 22.5cm deep) with a padded backrest that provides comfortable support when you need to rest during outdoor walks. The higher seat height (60.5cm compared to standard rollators) makes sitting down and standing up easier, particularly important when you're on uneven ground.

The padded backrest is especially valuable during longer outdoor excursions - when you find a scenic spot and want to sit for a while enjoying the view, the supportive backrest lets you relax comfortably.

Waterproof Bag

The rollator includes a waterproof comfort bag that keeps your belongings safe and dry even in unpredictable outdoor conditions. Whether you're caught in a light shower or morning dew is still heavy on the grass, the water-resistant bag protects your phone, keys, wallet, and other essentials.

The bag is positioned conveniently for easy access to items you need during walks.

Height Adjustable Ergonomic Handles

The ergonomically shaped handles adjust in height from 81-93cm, accommodating users of different statures. Proper handle height is essential for maintaining good posture and comfortable walking, particularly during longer outdoor excursions where poor positioning would quickly cause fatigue and discomfort.

The ergonomic grip design reduces strain on your hands and wrists, important when you're navigating uneven terrain that requires more active steering and control than smooth indoor floors.

One-Handed Easy Folding Mechanism

Despite its robust all-terrain construction, the Torro features a convenient one-handed folding mechanism. This makes it practical for transferring in and out of the car boot, or on and off of the bus.

When folded, the width reduces to just 22cm, creating a compact package that fits easily in most car boots.

Robust Construction for Demanding Use

At 9.1kg, the Torro is slightly heavier than lightweight indoor rollators, but this weight contributes to its stability and durability. The robust frame construction is built to withstand the demands of outdoor use - uneven ground, bumps, and the general rigours of all-terrain walking.

The sturdy build means the Torro won't flex or feel unstable on rough ground. You get confident, predictable handling even when the terrain beneath you is anything but smooth.

Reliable Braking System

The Torro is equipped with effective brakes that provide secure stopping power even on slopes and uneven surfaces. The parking brake function locks the rollator securely when you're seated, essential for safe resting on outdoor terrain that may not be perfectly level.

Maintenance for Pneumatic Tyres

Pneumatic tyres require occasional air pressure checks to maintain optimal performance. Check the tyre pressure regularly and inflate as needed to the manufacturer's recommended pressure. Properly inflated tyres provide the best shock absorption, traction, and rolling performance.

Inspect tyres periodically for punctures, cuts, or excessive wear. While pneumatic tyres are more durable than you might expect, they can be punctured by sharp objects.
