Description

The byACRE Carbon Overland rollator is a rugged addition to the byACRE family of carbon fibre rollators. It's incredibly lightweight and offers superb capabilities on all terrains.

Design

The byACRE design ambition for the Carbon Overland rollator has been to give people the freedom to go wherever they want, whenever they want.  In the process, byACRE realised that they were aspiring to the same features as the iconic Land Rover Defender, which has been around for the last 70 years.  In admiration of this iconic vehicle, they created a special edition – the Carbon Overland Defender – which is a tribute to the original Land Rover Defender.

Brakes

The brake cables are uniquely and painstakingly designed to route through the frame in order to give a sleek, untarnished appearance to the byACRE Overland. This also reduces the chance of the cables getting caught on door handles, tree branches etc. - reducing the possibility of pricey repairs.

Colours

The Overland is available in a classic Defender Green and a timeless Bentley Brown.

Strength

Rumour has it that three out of four of the very first batch of Land Rover Defenders are still roaming the streets today. The goal is for the Overland to beat that achievement.

The byACRE Overland is for all-terrain and is built to last with a frame made from carbon fibre five times stronger than steel – to prove it, there is a lifetime warranty on the frame.

Versatility

Despite its strong capabilities, it remains a lightweight rollator among all-terrain rollators at only 6.7 kg, thanks to the carbon fibre frame and durable yet lightweight aluminium materials.

This keeps the outdoor rollator agile and able to cover long distances easily.  At the same time, it folds flat from a single movement and can easily be lifted into a car, train and aeroplane.

There kerb lifter on both sides to help you get over challenging hurdles with ease.

Freedom

With ultra-durable pneumatic inflatable rubber tyres and rigid front forks with sealed bearings, the Overland can take on even the toughest terrains.  Combined with the shock-absorbing properties in the carbon fibre frame you have the highest level of driving comfort – regardless of the terrain.  You will have the freedom to go anywhere.

byACRE took the best from the Carbon Ultralight and combined it with ultra-durable pneumatic tyres, that conquer beaches, forests and mountains. The result is a design marvel of a tough, versatile, strong all-terrain rollator. It is a rollator that is built to last and gives you your freedom and curiosity back.

Going fishing? No problem if you bring your Overland. You can rely on this all-terrain rollator for support and stability when walking in the woods and the seat provides a comfortable and assured place to rest when needed.

Accessories

There are a range of accessories to complement the rollator, including a backrest, cane holder and travel bag.

Shipping

The Overlands are dispatched from Assist Mobility's UK-based warehouse. We aim to get it to you within 48 working hours of your order being placed, ensuring minimal waiting time for your potentially life-changing piece of mobility equipment.

Warranty

Extend the byACRE warranty from two years to a 'finite warrant' by simply registering your byACRE rollator within the first three months after purchase and receiving the additional warranty on the rollator frame. Our customer service team are happy to register on your behalf if you give us a call.

Road test for the Carbon Overland Rollator

I realized I needed a help when the arthritis in my knee began to really affect my mobility. A friend mentioned that watching me trying to navigate through traffic, while limping, clutching grocery bags, managing a walking stick, and holding onto my very active border collie was not a pretty sight. So I reluctantly started looking for a rollator. I had just about given up when I came across the byAcre web site. Love at first sight. The next morning I called byAcre and spoke to a very nice lady who suggested I give Assist Mobility a call. I did, and spoke to a lovely lady who was very patient and took the time to answer all my questions. She was so helpful, making sure I had selected the right rollator for my needs: the Overland Off Road Rollator.
The rollator arrived the next day, and was ready to go right out the box. For its first outing I selected a National Trust property that had acres of formal gardens, and a house. The weather the day before I went had been very rainy, the access to and around the gardens was through thick wet grass, muddy pathways, lots of deep large pieces of gravel, uneven pavement, and slippery cobblestones. The rollator went through, and over everything with no problem at all. When it came to the house, the rollator was great, it went over carpets, stone hallways etc just fine. When I came to narrow areas I just folded the rollator in half and it and I went through these areas easily. In the cafeteria, I again folded it in half and stood it next to the table while I had a coffee.
I have been asked by people if it has brakes because the cables aren't visible-I assure then it does. When we come across steps, people kindly rush over offering to lift the rollator up the steps for me. I thank them for their kindness, fold the rollator in half and carry it up the steps with one hand. People seem surprised at how little it weighs.
Since this experience, I have gone to another National Trust property and had a similar experience. For me, this rollator has made a big difference in my life, allowing me to be more active for much longer periods. Now when I walk through traffic, there is no limping, no cane, and the dog trots happily beside me. Thank you byAcre and Assist Mobility.

Excellent Walking Aid

I am very pleased with my Carbon Overland Rollator 'it does what it says on tin' and keeps me upright when walking, which is a bonus. It's a doddle to unfold, fold, and light enough to pick-up and place in my Seat Ateca without dropping the seats, which is a win win situation me. The pump up wheels make this walker a lot more manoeuvrable than solid wheels, which I've had before. However, it's not all sweetness and light, the back rest is a pig clip on, if you have weak and arthritic hands, forget it, as you will need assistance. Don't forget to watch the back rest video before you start, it makes things a bit easier.

In conclusion, the Carbon Overland seems to be well made, looks good and ten times better than walking sticks. Although, the walker is supplied with a Pocket Bag the price of the add on assessories seem a tad too high, including the back rest (a strip of plastic) at £52 which for safety reasons when using the seat should have been included as standard. Other than that, the Overland is a life saver for me as I can now get out and about with confidence, walking a greater distance without the worry of falling over. It came well packed and ready to use straight out of the box. Communications with customer services are excellent. So, what's not to like. Recommended.

Classy and robusf

I had already bought the Carbon light rollator and liked the design very much. I ❤️ the fact that it’s light and snazzy but I did feel the bumps in the pavement. (A friend thought I was exaggerating that, however). I decided to order the Overland and find it is worth it. The larger pneumatic wheels make a difference although they do not eliminate bumps. I can walk without being so aware of them and think that is well worth the expense. I shall use the compact light one for buses and, eventually, round the house and garden paths. On both these, the forward-facing handles enable me walk upright and stride along. I now have whole days without much pain and can walk further which helps me sleep better and feel freer and more independent. My advice is to choose the Overland if you can manage the small amount of extra weight and size.
