Design
The byACRE Carbon Ultralight rollator is genuinely an ultra-light walker - in fact, it's one of the lightest rollator walkers at just 4.8kg (10.6 lbs). The sleek frame is made from carbon fibre which is the same material as the body of a Formula 1 car.
The Ultralight combines superb quality with a modern design and dynamic shape. The shape of the rollator is inspired by both race car and bike designs, which symbolise an active lifestyle. In 2019, the Ultralight won the Red Dot design.
The Ultralight is extremely easy to fold. It is possible to fold it using just one hand by pulling up from the middle of the built-in seat. It collapses into a compact and manageable shape, making it effortless to transport in the car, plane, bus or train – enabling you to explore the world around you.
byACRE is an innovative Danish company with a mission to revolutionise mobility aids. Their aim is to help maintain a good activity level; with the Ultralight, yet retain functionality and style at the same time.
Although light in weight, the Ultralight is sturdy and stable. Our customers tell us that it's not too light, and they feel safe and secure when using it. On numerous occasions, it has been described as the "Ferrari of Rollators". The Ultralight is a great conversation starter; our customers are regularly stopped in the street with a flurry of questions regarding the design and features.
Our customers love these life-changing rollators. This is supported by over 400 genuine and honest 5-star reviews from Assist Mobility customers.
Features
Handles
Thoughtfully designed ergonomic handles support you to ensure correct upright posture. The folding seat is positioned forward in the frame, this allows you to stand inside the frame, getting you in an upright and comfortable position.
The rollator has a reassuring braking system; by pressing the brake handles downward, the brakes will be set in a locked position without needing to hold them, this is ideal for keeping safe when seated. They can also be pulled manually at varying pressure, much like a bike brake, to help you slow down when walking with the Ultralight.
The handles offer the perfect spot to rest your arms on when you are sat in the built-in seat.
Brake Cables
The brake cables are uniquely and painstakingly designed to route through the frame in order to give a sleek, untarnished appearance to the Ultralight.
This also minimises the chance of the cables getting caught when placing your rollator in the car or taking it for walks, reducing the possibility of pricey repairs.
Built In Seat
The rollator comes with a built-in seat. It is constructed from hard-wearing fabric and is super comfortable, similar to a director's chair. It has a cutout for your hand, which is used to pull the seat upwards to fold the rollator when you want to transport it.
Wheels
The 8-inch polyurethane wheels offer excellent shock absorption and cushioning, which makes the rollator more comfortable to use by reducing vibrations when going over uneven surfaces or small obstacles. This is particularly important for users who may have joint sensitivity or pain.
The wheels are puncture-proof and don't need to be filled with air, so you don't need to worry about keeping them inflated.
In the Box
At no extra cost, the Ultralight comes complete with a handy small organiser bag which attaches to the underside of the rollator. The versatile organiser is purpose-made to hold your personal belongings, such as keys, phone, wallet, sanitiser etc. With the attachable shoulder strap, the organiser can be carried over your shoulder like a small purse or bag, when not being used on the rollator. The bag does not have to be removed when closing the rollator. As with everything about the Ultralight, it is made to perfection and is well thought-out with the user's best interests in mind.
It also comes with two travel locks to keep the rollator folded when in the closed position, being stored or transported.

Travel Lock

What's My Size?
The acre rollator walkers are available in three seat widths:
Size
Seat Height
Seat Width
Handle Height
Width Between Handles
Compact
56cm
41cm
79-91cm
35cm
Regular
61cm
42cm
80-95cm
38cm
Wide
61cm
47cm
80-95cm
43cm
For context, over the last 90 days, 56% of our UK customers purchased a wide track, 30% a regular track, and 14% compact. We want you to be happy with your Ultralight the first time you get it, so when in between sizes, opt for the wider option as you won't visually notice the difference, but you'll have more space when seated, which will be useful in winter when you have a thicker coat on.
Wide track (56%)
Regular track (30%)
Compact track (14%)
We also have two useful tool available to give you a helping hand in getting the correct size:
Virtual Showroom - You can enter your dimensions to experience the rollator in stunning 3D with your proportions. This will allow you to explore every angle and help you understand what size is right for you.
Size Estimator Tool - This is a simple tool for you to enter your dimensions and we will provide you a suitable size based on the manufacturer's recommendation..
The height of the handles should match the height of your wrists when standing comfortably.
Seat Height
The seat height is fixed, but it differs between the Compact and the Regular / Wide sizes. To test which seat height is best, try sitting on a chair which is of a similar height. The most important part of a rollator seat is how easy it is to get in and out of, so try sitting to see if you will be comfortable getting in and out of it frequently.
Width
When manoeuvring in and out of the rollator seat, it is preferable that your hip width is less than the width between the handles on the rollator. You can still use your rollator even if it’s a bit too narrow around the handles, but you may need to do a ‘salsa’ to get into the seat.
You should also consider whether you will be wearing thick coats (especially in the winter) or other items around your waist, as you may then need the extra space.
Size Estimator Tool
Enter the user's measurements into the simple tool below that will provide a recommendation on which width Ultralight would be suitable. We also advise substantiating the result by measuring a seat and testing for size.
We recommend a Compact Track based on a user that is 5'2" tall and their hips are 39.3" (100cm) or less in circumference.

What Assist Mobility customers have to say about their Ultralights
"This rollator is wonderful for when you need the support but would not be seen dead with an old person's rollator! So lightweight for getting in and out of the car and up and down kerbs. Considerable purchase but worth every penny!"
Lynn Lessels
"The one thing I hate about being 'disabled' is the way mobility aids seem to categorise you as being old and frail - which for those of us who require such aids, know that is often not the case! This little gem is different. I feel supported and yet feel just like anyone else who doesn't have a mobility problem! I can walk upright, so a good posture is maintained, it's light, it's easy to use, it's modern, and well worth the money. It has become a talking point when I am out and about. I get stopped and asked about it. The colours are great - I love bright colours - I have a red one! It's great for me and I don't feel like I am being categorised as disabled, but just someone who needs a bit of help to support my walking!"
Elizabeth Moran
"I was very nervous to get my rollator, I was worried I would feel self-conscious and that I was ‘giving in’ to my MS which has resulted in mobility issues for me. I didn’t want to look elderly when I’m not!! I’m delighted with it though - now that I’ve got it and used it today for the first time I felt really empowered - I felt steady and safe and the Carbon Ultralight feels super modern and not ‘fuddy duddy’ at all! It’s been much admired and it’s made a difficult decision, to realise I need more than a walking stick, much easier to process as I feel it looks so contemporary but it is giving me the stability and confidence that I’m needing to go out on my own again! I can lift it easily in and out of the car, super light but still feels strong and sturdy - I’m very pleased-thank you!"

How to transport your Ultralight
Looking for a byACRE rollator to take off-road?
If you're looking for another exceptional mobility aid, the Ultralight has a bigger brother known as the Overland. With pneumatic air-filled tyres, the Overland is designed to be taken off-road and can tackle harsh terrains such as beaches, forests and rugged trails.
If you aren't in a position to stretch for the top-of-the-range rollator from byACRE, we offer their more budget-friendly version - Learn more about the Nordic Pioneer.
Understandably this is a significant purchase to make. The below graph displays how much the rollator works out costing you per day over 1, 5 and 10 years of ownership. We hope this provides an insignt in to the value (and freedom) the rollator will provide you over the course of ownership.
If you're interested in other options, consider exploring our selection of
rollators and walkers.
What a transformational purchase, the Ultralight has totally changed me/my body for the positive.
I have a progressive muscle disease which has severely reduced my mobility and has left me hardly walking with a stick and only occasionally do I use the NHS supplied heavy Rollator - overall - not much fun.
Purchased an Ultralight Rollator 2 weeks ago - WOW ! what a difference I now use the Ultralight in preference to a Stick . Getting out and about is now a pleasure. I have found that I can walk quite long distances without stopping, walking around large shops is now possible - I actually walk with the Ultralight for pleasure.
Leg muscles are definitely strengthening, and just generally feeling better/brighter now I am active. Very thankful that I purchased the Ultralight health wise, it also so very easy to get in/out of car and move around with.
Transformational for me - Bob - 73 years

The Best Rollator
After a lot of research I decided on Acre and I'm not disappointed. Besides looking modern and smart it's light and very easy to use. I was advised to buy the Wide version and although my hip measurements were on the borderline, wide is better than the regular size. I had tried my friend's Regular model for ease of use when sitting. I feel I have now been given a new lease of life. On my first walk using my Rollator, after being able to walk only very short distances for over a year, I walked 1.7 miles. Definitely a life changer and it's so comfortable to walk with. No stooping and a feeling of confidence and security. Definitely THE BEST.

Fantastic rollator, fantastic Company!
Can't say enough about the carbon ultralight rollator. So light and very easy to manoeuvre, has made a massive difference to me. The design is so well thought out, making it better for my posture and back pain! Also because of muscle weakness I can't lift anything heavy but this is light enough for me to lift no problem! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! It also arrived extremely quick, the next day in fact! The customer service from Assist Mobility was fantastic. Would highly recommend buying from them, I wouldn't go anywhere else now for any further Mobility aides. Thank you Assist Mobility!

My Mercedes
Mercedes and I went out for a brief walk to the post office in the rain this morning. She is SO light! She also mounts low kerbs with no problem at all; I only had to use the kerb pedal for one very steep one – and that’s so easy once I had remembered which set of wheels they were attached to!
I so much appreciate the space to stand up straight whilst walking, unlike my late mother’s rollator which I had been using. That gave me back-ache as does my walking stick. I find I walk more quickly too as she gives me confidence.
My only “problem” is that I’m not sure which handle “hole” is the right position for me. I walked there with three holes showing on the shank and came back with two. I think I must be between two heights and will have to experiment with finding the most comfortable position.
I love her! The seat didn’t absorb the rain either – simply brushed off. She’ll be having her first trip on the bus to Manchester on Thursday – she’ll be the envy of all the other rollator owners on the bus!
